Biel-Tan Ranger
Well, I have finished my Ranger and have taken all of the pics, so, here is the second Eldar Page tutorial!!! Click on the pics for more detailed pics.

Step 1: The Undercoat
Welcome to the second Eldar Page tutorial! Forget what I said about painting models limb by limb, I don't like to do this anymore. I also have given up painting the model with Chaos Black to undercoat it. I like to spray them now. I find it easier to cover the model this way and it doesn't take as long to cover it.

After removing all of the flash, undercoat the Ranger with a black spray. I use Krylon Ultra-Flat Black to undercoat my models. It works perfectly for Warhammer miniatures. It's not glossy and it dries in under 10 minutes. It also doesn't give the models that charcoal looking feel. Wait until it dries to go onto the next step. Paint all of the parts you missed with a watered down Chaos Black.

Step 2: The Cloak
When the undercoat dries, paint a nice, even coat of Snot Green onto the cloak. This may take a couple of layers because of the black, but be patient. After the green is dry and looks good to you, wash the whole model with a watered Black Ink. This will give the model a shaded look. Because this takes a little longer to dry than a normal paint, go get yourself a pop and watch some TV for about 5 minutes. When you are pretty sure that the model is dry, you can start highlighting.

First, I took a little Snot Green and highlighted all of the raised parts of the cloak. This is your basic highlight, so put it on every raised area. For the next layer of highlighting, I added some Sunburst Yellow to the green and highlighted a little less than before. Keep on adding yellow and then highlighting for about 5 times, progressively getting smaller and more careful with every shade. See the pic for details of where to put the highlights. Lets move on to the details.

Step 3: Detailing
First, get some Snakebite Leather on your brush and paint all of these with it:

- The sword (if the model has one)

- The packs

- The straps

- The gloves

- The holster and sheath of the gun

After that has dried, drybrush all of these parts with bleached bone. If you wish, you can highlight, but I actually think this looks better, highlighting the Snakebite Leather parts with Bleached Bone looks weird to me. After this is dry, paint all of the little buttons on the pouches Boltgun Metal. Next, paint the end of the Ranger Long Rifle Mithril Silver (see pic). Drybrush the Shuriken Pistol and grip of the sword Boltgun Metal.

Step 4: Final Detailing
Paint the face Skull White and drybrush the mask Boltgun Metal. Paint the eyes Blood Red. Next paint all of the gems Chaos Black if you got any paint on them. When that is dry, paint them Red Gore. Next, paint the top left part Chaos Black and the bottom right Sunburst Yellow. Next, paint a little white dot in the middle of the Chaos Black to make it look like it is shining. Next, highlight the gun with Codex Grey. Next, we'll paint sheath of the gun. Paint the little design on the sheath Snot Green. Then paint the top lining Chainmail (see picture). Next, paint the little line going down the Shuriken Pistol Snot Green and paint the end of the gun Blood Red.

Step 5: Basing
Paint the base Snakebite Leather. This takes a lot of layers because it is very hard to paint onto bases for some reason. When you have a nice even coat, paint some Elmer's Glue onto the top of the base. Next, dip it in some sand or gravel of your choice and leave it in there so it can dry. It usually take 2-5 minutes to dry, so go get another pop or something. when you thinks it's dry, take it out and blow the excess flock off. If you want, add some static grass or extra bitz to the base.
